Yesterday's market at Shenkham Arts Centre hosted by Doggo Cakes & Treats was an absolute blast!
From the incredible variety of vendors to the fantastic people and their dogs who came to visit and browse - the day was perfect! Aside from a little rain and some hail between the sunshine, it was a downright delightful day.
I was happy to be set up alongside the rescue organization Sit With Me and some of the dogs they have in foster care who are ready to have homes and families of their own. I offered Mini Sessions for loving dog moms with 30% of the proceeds being donated to Sit With Me!
A big and special thanks goes out to Victoria of Doggo Cakes and Treats for organizing and hosting another market and allowing me the opportunity to take photos in support of Sit With Me.

Organizations like Sit With Me are run entirely by a team of devoted volunteers. Their mission is to help dogs in our local shelters in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Barbados. They give their help and resources to all dogs in need, no matter their size, breed or health status.
Wondering How You Can Help?
Donate - Your financial support helps Sit With Me and their continued effort to help vulnerable dogs. The generosity of supporters helps to ensure that the dogs in their care receive the needed medical attention and supplies. And financial support allows them to carry on saving dogs in need in our communities. Donating financially isn't the only way to help! They accept donations of durable chew toys, clean and gently used bedding, puzzles for enrichment and treats and food are welcome as well.
Adopt - If you're thinking of adding a dog to your home, Sit With Me has dogs of all sizes, shapes, breeds, mixes - you name it. They have dogs available in foster homes awaiting a family of their very own to love them for the rest of their lives. Sit With Me takes the time to get to know each dog's unique personality to build their adoption profiles with all the information they know about a dog's care needs. They put care and time into adoption applications to help ensure that dogs get the forever home that's right for them.
Volunteer - Sit With Me is a non-profit organization that is run by dedicated volunteers. The volunteers are the amazing people whose hearts are passionate about rescue and they give their time, knowledge and skills to helping dogs in need with coordination, events, transporting, fundraising efforts and more! The fantastic network of people helps keep the rescue operating and they deserve a big hand for the hard work they do.
Foster - The rescue always needs foster homes! Being a Foster Home is a huge responsibility that requires time, and effort and for everyone in the home to be on board. Foster homes provide a safe environment for dogs while they wait for a family of their own. Since Sit With Me focuses on shelter dogs in need, this can mean that the dogs they help are often seniors, have medical concerns, special needs, behaviour issues or are a prohibited breed such as pit bull types.
